Downtown Dental

I graduated from dental school in 2002 from the University of Alberta and practiced as an owner and a lead dentist in Tuscany for 17 years. I’ve always enjoyed the vibrant downtown culture and I am excited to be part of a downtown practice where I can offer a variety of services to our patients. I perform all components of dentistry but am particularly interested in surgical procedures such as Wisdom teeth extractions, dental implants, and grafting procedures. Patient education is as important to me as the actual dental procedures; communication is key.

Dr. Claire Whitney is originally from Ardrossan, AB. She moved to Calgary in 2007 after completing her dental education from the University of Alberta and began practising general dentistry at Downtown Dental. She truly enjoys getting to know people and creating relationships with her patients. She enjoys helping people with their dental needs in a comfortable environment where they feel as though they are being cared for and heard. She is married, with 3 children, and enjoys the juggling act of working and owning a business with the excitement of raising a family that enjoys being active.

Dr. Kristin Yont was born and raised on a farm in Saskatchewan, and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry as a general dentist in 1998. She is passionate about her profession and wants to make a difference in the lives of the people that she serves. In her spare time she enjoys cross country skiing in Canmore, golfing, running and practicing yoga. She also really enjoys studying topics of anatomy, physiology, neurobiology and neuroanatomy.
